About The Position

The Space Manager & Drafter at Georgia College and State University is responsible for managing and implementing the space planning function for all interior spaces within the university. This role involves analyzing, planning, and coordinating complex space allocations, as well as performing drafting functions using CAD software. The position ensures the accuracy and upkeep of all space data and provides support for building information management.

Requirements

• Associate's, Vocational or Technical degree in CAD/drafting, Urban Planning, GIS, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in facilities space management, drafting, or planning work in campus-based institutions.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products, Adobe, AutoCAD or similar drafting applications.
• Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in CAD/drafting, Urban Planning, GIS, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain detailed specifications of building alterations and additions, including architectural elevations and a drawings database.
• Manage and maintain space data integrity through established databases and assist with project and space requests.
• Prepare and issue reports utilizing various drawing methods and space management software for internal and external agencies.
• Gather supporting data and prepare detailed maps of institutional property, maintaining facility document management systems.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding CAD drawings and space management, acting as a liaison for various projects.
