About The Position

Leidos’ NISC IV program os currently seeking an Space Management Interior Designer. This individual must create and review designs and drawings as requirement and necessary for the alteration, modernization, or expansion of new FAA facilities to support and plan for the integration of NAS/NEXTGEN modernization projects and program systems, components, and equipment. Services must be provided for a wide range of facility design disciplines in support of NAS/NEXTGEN implementation programs and projects. Interior design expertise and knowledge of current building codes, ADA and Life safety requirements must be utilized in the design, construction, safety, installation, implementation, management, coordination, and efficiency of the National Airspace System (NAS). Typical services must include the preparation of drawings of structures and facilities. Space Management Interior Designer tasks include: Meet with client organizations to determine space requirements. Design space layout of existing and new spaces considering various alternatives and solutions to planning objectives. Perform site inspections to gather information and analyze the suitability of space and furnishings and develop space plan drawings to satisfy the requirements of agency operations. Prepare drawings & presentations to effectively communicate plans, cost analysis, and phasing of space and facility management objectives to individual space P.O.C’s. and large groups of customer agencies executives. Provide Computer Aided Engineering Graphics (CAEG) and Automated Computer-Aided Drafting (AutoCAD) expertise that will be utilized by Aeronautical Center customers and general contractors in the design, construction, safety, installation, implementation, management coordination, and efficiency of the MMAC facility projects in support of the NAS. Prepare cost estimates (IGCE) and specification writing for the purchase of new furniture. The designers have a strong background in the following furniture types: Powered & non-powered panel hung system furniture workstations Freestanding modular workstations Freestanding private office furniture Powered conference tables & presentation furniture with audio-visual equipment Classroom furniture and audio-visual equipment Provide Automated Computer-Aided Drafting (AutoCAD) drawing and database support of site plans including facility baseline and transition drawings, facility record drawings, facility design and engineering drawings. Validate electronic media as-built drawings for completed construction projects and update facility survey databases and plan layouts for moves at the MMAC. Prepare space plan drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports for use in presentations for both internal and external organizations at the MMAC. Required Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency using AutoCad for architectural design & space planning. Experience preparing cost estimates and specifications for the purchase of new commercial office furnishings. Pay Range: Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Requirements
