About The Position

The Space Management Coordinator will provide technical, analytical, and logistical support for space planning, office reconfiguration, and move execution activities across the Department of State. The coordinator will conduct detailed surveys of workspace and building areas to determine office requirements, equipment needs, telecommunications considerations, and necessary space alterations.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • FIVE (5) years’ experience supporting space management activities
  • Experience producing drawings using AutoCAD from extensive archives of floor plans, design drawings, and technical schematics
  • Knowledge of GSA construction standards and the ability to accurately interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience analyzing equipment requirements and aligning functional needs with building system capabilities
  • Experience using Archibus or other Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) applications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys to determine office space requirements, functional needs, and layout modifications.
  • Analyze requirements for space alterations such as telecom outlets, IT connections, furniture configurations, and equipment layouts.
  • Review and develop methods to improve data accuracy, timeliness, and quality for dissemination to organizational leadership.
  • Assist program managers in developing strategies aligned with broader space planning goals and project objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate move and furniture relocation activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Coordinate closely with tenant bureaus, Diplomatic Security (DS), Diplomatic Technology (DT), and other stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant relocations.
  • Support the development of move plans, timelines, sequencing, and communication materials.
  • Participate in on-site move activities to ensure alignment with approved plans and minimize disruptions.
