About The Position

The Space Management Coordinator will provide technical, analytical, and design support for space planning, office reconfiguration, and workplace management activities across the Department of State. The coordinator will conduct detailed surveys, analyze functional and operational requirements, and determine space needs for offices, personnel, equipment, and building systems. This coordinator will support both day-to-day and large-scale space planning efforts, including moves, renovations, and infrastructure assessments.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • FIVE (5) years' experience supporting space management activities
  • Experience producing drawings using AutoCAD from extensive floor plans, design drawings, and construction schematics.
  • Knowledge of GSA construction standards and ability to accurately interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Experience using Archibus or other Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing moves at the Department of State in any capacity (IT, security, or tenant bureau participation)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience analyzing equipment requirements and integrating functional needs with building infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare space programs, design sketches, technical layouts, and planning documents for renovations and relocations.
  • Provide original, detailed AutoCAD drawings based on existing floor plans, schematics, and design archives.
  • Prepare drawings, layouts, and plans for additions, improvements, alterations, and equipment installations.
  • Participate in engineering surveys and contribute to formulation and adaptation of design plans and specifications.
