About The Position
As a Transport Mission Architect for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system. Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
- Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

- Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on: Ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads
- Experience with ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis
- Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw.
- Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
- Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment.
- Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline.
- Decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into software and network architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
- Coordination with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meet system mission needs.
