About The Position

As a Systems Engineer for the Space Force MUOS program, youll work as a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions and interfaces using system interaction and flow diagramming tools such as Visio, Draw IO and MagicDraw Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG) Design, development, integration and test of ground communications and network management systems Understanding of: Network Management areas such as Planning and Provisioning, Key Management, Fault Management and Security Management Network Management applications areas including planning and provisioning, messaging and adapters, AAA and PKI. Satellite communication (SATCOM) principles and communication types Industry standards and safety regulations for electronic equipment Engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance Trade studies, determination of system Impacts and courses of action for system upgrades Estimation of new or updated features and capabilities System risk identification and mitigation Ability to understand and review software (Java, PowerShell, bash) What sets you apart: Ability to lead the systems engineering integration and test process Expertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges in creative ways Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and positioning others for success Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Agile experience preferred.
