About The Position

As a Systems Engineer for the Space Force MUOS program, you'll work as a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
  • 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree
  • U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities
  • Agile experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions and interfaces using system interaction and flow diagramming tools such as Visio, Draw IO and MagicDraw
  • Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG)
  • Design, development, integration and test of ground communications and network management systems
  • Understand Network Management areas such as Planning and Provisioning, Key Management, Fault Management and Security Management
  • Understand Network Management applications areas including planning and provisioning, messaging and adapters, AAA and PKI
  • Understand Satellite communication (SATCOM) principles and communication types
  • Apply industry standards and safety regulations for electronic equipment
  • Utilize engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance
  • Conduct trade studies, determination of system impacts and courses of action for system upgrades
  • Estimate new or updated features and capabilities
  • Identify and mitigate system risks
  • Understand and review software (Java, PowerShell, bash)
