About The Position
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Space Enterprise Optimization Specialist (Engineering Specialist - Modeling & Simulation Engineering) to join its Systems Engineering Division (SED). This role is pivotal in employing and developing sophisticated simulation tools to perform space and ground design, optimization, and analysis. The successful candidate will support architecture concept trade studies, requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives, and performance modeling. As a technical expert for a portfolio of high-impact projects, the specialist will work collaboratively with other analysts to expand their domain knowledge and contribute to the department's optimization capabilities. This position is 100% onsite at one of the three major Aerospace Corporation locations, with a strong preference for Colorado Springs, CO, and offers a hybrid work model with up to one day per week of remote work as business needs allow. In this role, you will independently and collaboratively provide subject matter expertise to program offices and government customers in areas such as space architecture design and optimization, space network design, orbital analysis, and space security and defense. You will leverage both in-house and commercial engineering analysis tools to deliver technical insights through analytical deep dives, trade studies, and assessments. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and presenting timely and technically-accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and collaborators is essential, as is identifying opportunities to sustain and grow simulation and analysis capabilities to support a diverse customer base. The role also includes mentoring junior staff members in one or more department capability areas and may require occasional travel to support customer efforts.
