Space Communications Infrastructure Technician

AnySignalLos Angeles, CA
2d$25 - $35Onsite

About The Position

AnySignal is a startup whose mission is to usher in the next generation of RF products and services. For the most demanding space and defense missions, AnySignal provides a flexible platform with world-class performance that is easy to deploy, monitor, purchase, and upgrade. Our team has a diverse range of backgrounds that cover cloud computing to artificial intelligence, communications and sensing, embedded systems, and much more. We’re building and deploying infrastructure that operates in harsh real-world environments - the kinds of systems that have to work the first time, every time. We’re looking for a hands-on technician who loves building physical systems, assembling complex mechanical structures, and taking pride in clean workmanship. You would be working on precision mechanical assemblies and field build work for large mechanical structures, rotating assemblies, mounts, enclosures, cable routing, and related hardware. If you like torque specs, tight tolerances, clean cable management, and building something you can stand back and admire, you’ll fit right in.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience assembling mechanical systems (shop, industrial, aerospace, marine, automotive, or similar)
  • Comfort working from technical documentation (drawings, work instructions, parts lists)
  • Experience using common build tools: torque wrenches, calipers, drills, taps/dies, rivet tools, etc.
  • Ability to build with consistency, cleanliness, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on-site and occasionally outdoors in field-like environments
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling large components (with proper safety equipment and team lifts)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large structures, field-deployed systems, or precision mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with bearings, gearboxes, motors, belt/chain drives, and rotational alignment
  • Experience working with aluminum structures, steel hardware, and corrosion control practices
  • Experience with weatherproofing techniques (gaskets, sealants, strain relief, environmental enclosures)
  • Forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, or rigging experience (or willingness to get certified)
  • Basic electrical/mechanical integration familiarity (routing harnesses, connectors, grounding)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building space communications infrastructure, including structural components, mounts, enclosures, and related hardware
  • Perform mechanical build work from drawings, CAD exports, and written assembly instructions
  • Use precision hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment to build repeatable hardware
  • Route, secure, and dress RF and power cabling cleanly (strain relief, weather sealing, service loops, labeling)
  • Conduct fit checks, alignment checks, and mechanical QA (fastener verification, torque marking, inspection logs)
  • Support outdoor installation work, including lifting/rigging assistance, anchoring, and field retrofits
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues (binding, misalignment, backlash, vibration, wear) and implement fixes
  • Maintain tools, keep the build area organized, and contribute to process improvements for faster, cleaner builds
