About The Position

The Sanderling Resort is looking for a part-time Spa Nail Technician to join our team. If you are meticulous in your craft and passionate about providing the best possible guest experience, we would love to meet you.

Requirements

  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks, operate equipment, and complete job duties in a safe manner
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days as well as holidays
  • Current licenses and certification as required by the state of North Carolina
  • A strong working knowledge of state board sanitation and disinfection regulations for nail services
  • Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for providing the best customer experience possible
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, a clear speaking voice, and the ability to maintain a professional and positive tone at all times.
  • Applicants must be neat, well-groomed, well-poised, and possess a pleasant demeanor.
  • Must be able to establish a rapport with our guests and customers, dealing with them in a warm, friendly, and courteous manner at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience as a nail technician preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administers manicures, pedicures and hand and foot treatments to include natural and gel nails
  • Sets the ambiance for relaxation
  • Maintains the manicure/pedicure stations daily including all product containers, laundry, linens, equipment, carts, etc.
  • Promotes and sells nail care products
  • Properly cleans, disinfects, and stores all implements before and after each guest using approved disinfectants
  • Tracks, maintains, and communicates supply needs to ensure adequate inventory levels at all times
  • Maintains knowledge of all treatments and as the ability to explain treatments to guests
  • Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent all or part of a service from taking place
  • Communicates with management and other team members, regarding guest or service concerns
  • Stays up-dated and becomes well-versed/trained in the latest developments pertinent to your department, the spa, and the resort
  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest
  • Attends all required spa and property meetings and training courses
  • Demonstrates a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.
  • Understands and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.
  • Complies with all policies as outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued including time and attendance expectations, uniform and dress code standards, anti-harassment policy, and substances in the workplace.
