About The Position

The Spa Intern will participate in front of the house operations in all areas including spa, fitness, and salon front desks, reservations, group sales, and locker rooms while ensuring Five Star Standards are maintained. The intern will assist with back of the house procedures including inventory control, reporting, and a variety of administrative tasks. Additionally, the intern will complete several special projects.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent credentials.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone, and calculator.
  • Familiarization with Micros POS (point-of-sales) system.
  • Ability to work simple math calculations.
  • Must have the ability to accurately handle money, make change, and process credit card transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of all spa, fitness, and salon policies and procedures.
  • Assist with all spa, salon, fitness, and locker room front desk operations and procedures.
  • Gain an overview and assist as needed in reservations and group sales.
  • Assist with the inventory, ordering, receiving, and dispensing of operating supplies.
  • Work on a variety of administrative tasks and complete several special projects.
  • Organize, rearrange, and improve the appearance of many areas throughout the spa.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have.
  • Complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues or provide information to admin support to complete GPR form if computer access is not available.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Execute other duties as delegated by leadership.
