About The Position

The Spa Attendant ensures the guests experience is up to the standards of the brand by dealing with them directly and addressing the details behind the scenes to go above and beyond their expectations. Their objectives include assisting guests with spa related information, giving them personal attention, anticipating their needs and being an escort to the appropriate facilities. Outside of guest service, their role is to keep the Spa and Fitness Center clean, neat, stocked and organized at all times.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Spoken and written English
  • Ability to walk, stand and bend for up to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs safely
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to be employed in the United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality in all guest matters in accordance with company policy.
  • Be on time for shift and maintain consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Prepare yourself for each shift with proper sleep, uniform, grooming standards, snacks or meals for breaks to get you through your shift, etc.
  • Wear a smile (when appropriate) while interacting with all guests in person or on a telephone call with them.
  • Attend departmental meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Follow and adhere to all policies and standards, memos and posted information.
  • Clock in and out accurately, and follow break-time/lunch guidelines.
  • Greet guests as they enter any area of the spa and fitness center if you are there.
  • Perform a variety of functions, including cleaning, stocking and preparing for guest treatments.
  • Host in the locker room and relaxation areas, ensuring that guests find their treatments, are served water, etc.
  • Act as a guide and must be able to interact with the guest in a warm, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and report deficiencies of any equipment around the spa and Fitness Center.
  • Maintain the facility in peak sanitary condition at all times.
  • Maintain locker rooms in a tidy manner.
  • Check, clean and restock lockers regularly.
  • Maintain toiletries in locker room vanities and organize personalized locker room amenity kits.
  • Fill and stock all locker room and dry/wet amenity products as needed.
  • Direct Members/Guests to appointments and assist them in every way possible.
  • Assist with the daily spa rituals as needed.
  • Assist Members/Guests with use of sauna, steam, hammam, salt room, experiential showers, etc.
  • Assist Members/Guests with use of all Fitness Center equipment.
  • Prepare rooms for treatments according to specified guidelines/SOPs.
  • Ensure stocking of all spa amenities and toiletries.
  • Consistently engaging with guests and living the Service Promise and Service Essentials.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and efficient manner and escort guests as required and give tours of the spa as required.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Spa and complete all shift duties including those on the AM and PM checklists and as directed.
  • Respond to inquiries providing complete details of all spa, salon and fitness aspects.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of lockers, hallways, artwork, fixtures, lounge, wet and dry facilities, stairwells, bathrooms and service closets.
  • Remove trash from work areas to the loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from cleaning carts.
  • Report deficiencies of any equipment.
  • Maintain each storage and distribution area in a clean and organized condition.
  • Maintain linen inventory.
  • Distribute linen to designated areas in the Spa and Fitness Center in accordance with established par levels in each area.
  • Remove dirty linen to holding area on loading dock.
  • Report any linen shortages or other discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
  • Move, store and stock furniture, supplies, and equipment.
  • Consistently follow all standards, service essentials and procedures set out by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
  • To assist in maintaining and distributing information in the daily communication log and other details provided by spa or hotel leadership.
  • To assist the spa management team in any other tasks as needed and deemed appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
