The Child & Family Specialist I – (CFS) The Wraparound CFS provides direct services to children and families following strategies developed during the Child & Family Team meetings (CFTM.) Collaborates with team members and clinical staff to ensure that the client receives supports to help them meet the goals developed by the family. Guided by the core values and principles of Wraparound—family voice and choice, collaboration, cultural humility, and strengths-based practice—the CFS supports family stability, fosters resilience, and helps clients achieve their goals in alignment with Vista Del Mar’s mission of compassion, inclusion, and excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, with one year experience working with high-risk youth or high school diploma (or General Educational Diploma [GED]) with a minimum of three years’ experience working with high-risk children in either Child Welfare, Probation or mental health systems.
  • Able to engage and work effectively with parents and youth from diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
  • Must be self-directed, efficient, results-oriented and demonstrate good time-management skills.
  • Must function independently and as a productive member of a team and, maintains clear and appropriate boundaries with clients and colleagues.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supportively engage with assigned client & families.
  • Assists in ongoing development and evaluation of client’s individualized service plan strategies, starting with strengths chat, collecting client specific information for service plan integration.
  • Implements strategies during weekly individual client and/or family interventions promoting functional skills building and teaches coping skills.
  • Attend all client related meetings (i.e. CFTM, school IEP, psychiatrist appointments, etc.)
  • Provides advocacy and support for the client and family.
  • Provides community linkages and resources for client and families.
  • Assists with the development of crisis and safety plans with the Child and Family Team.
  • Participates during Wraparound team member debriefs, including CSW or DPO.
  • Provide ongoing updates to each client’s Family Plan and Safety Plan to reflect current needs and strategies.
  • Collaborates with Child and Family Team to ensure the client and family receives appropriate mental health support.
  • Provides crisis response as needed and supports with de-escalation and crisis stabilization.
  • Attends weekly individual and monthly group supervision as well as monthly program meetings or trainings, as assigned.
  • Completes program and client related documentation within program and agency timeframes.
  • Meets established monthly productivity rate.
