About The Position

This position leads and coordinates production activities and food safety. The position is responsible for the management of production, production personnel, plant cleaning, and compliance with GMPs, sanitation policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is mandatory, preferably in the food industry.
  • Able to communicate in both English and Spanish
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs and 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to go up and down on ladders/stairs
  • Must be able to walk a large part of the shift
  • Knowledge of Food Quality Systems, (SQF) preferred
  • Food industry knowledge preferred.
  • MS Office literate and basic computer skills
  • Personnel management skills

Responsibilities

  • Complies and enforces all safety rules regarding personnel safety, machine operation, and proper guarding in his area and throughout the facility
  • Wears non-slip shoes and proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Reports and investigates any unsafe condition and/or practice to his/her immediate supervisor
  • Complies and enforces the Company’s food safety, food quality, and food defense systems.
  • Carries proper company identification and parking permit
  • Complies with all safety, health, and environmental company policies and procedures.
  • Reports and investigates any work-related injuries to the immediate supervisor.
  • Adequately carries out all activities related to the security and quality of the finished product.
  • Manages level of adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices with regard to production and sanitation
  • Coordinate some Quality System Implementation activities (SQF)
  • Participate in the Customer Complaints investigations
  • Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety, and environmental standards
  • Complies and enforces food quality.
  • Adequately carries out all activities related to the quality of the finished product.
  • Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Complies and enforces food quality and food safety.
  • Performs internal audits of the Safety and Quality System
  • Provides corrective and preventive actions to non-conformities and issues thru internal corrective and preventive action procedure
  • Becomes personally accountable for the highest quality and integrity standards of behavior, honesty and fairness in all aspects of the job
  • Monitors verifies, and audits, making adjustments as necessary, processing and packaging equipment cleaning systems to ensure optimal operation
  • Monitor and improve production metrics such as scrap, efficiency, customer complaints, Overall Efficiency of Equipment (OEE), etc.
  • Distributes and redistributes personnel to cover production lines.
  • Assists shift supervisor with managing delivered materials to the production lines.
  • Assists shift supervisor with coordinating daily work activities
  • Implement and enforce order and cleanliness in all the areas.
  • Comply with and enforce the cleaning procedures in changes of product and weekly production end
  • Meet and enforces cleaning practices for manufacturing (5S's methodology).
  • Works closely with management and production personnel on production and sanitation problems recommending changes to improve production or sanitation policies, procedures, and standards
  • Perform comprehensive production and sanitation audits
  • Plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve the efficiency of operations.
