About the position
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the special education teacher in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities within a special education setting. The role involves helping to implement various classroom programs, which include self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. The individual will work under the general supervision of the principal and will receive immediate direction from a certified teacher.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Candidate must be a highly qualified paraprofessional or be enrolled in a class to obtain this certificate.
- Two years of related experience is preferred.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
- Candidate must have the ability to adapt to ever changing requirements in the classroom.
Nice-to-haves
- Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention is preferred.
