About The Position

As a Sow Farm Manager, you will oversee the production of a 5,000 sow unit and lead a team of up to 21 members. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing operations, including employee management, performance management, compliance, and safety. You will report directly to the Regional Manager and focus on efficiency while developing your team. Your responsibilities will include managing team performance, conducting hiring interviews, facilitating weekly farm meetings, and collaborating with the Nursery Service Manager on health and production numbers. You will also execute animal care plans, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with biosecurity and animal welfare programs. Participation in regional meetings and the development of yearly business plans are also key aspects of this role.

• 5 years of experience in Sow Farm management

Responsibilities

• Work with Nursery Service Manager on health challenges
• Execute animal care plans including vaccination and medication plans
• Monitor budgets and targets
• Execute biosecurity and animal welfare programs
• Ensure all team members are PQA trained
• Participate in monthly regional farm meetings
• Assist in developing farm budgets and targets
• Develop a yearly business plan with Sow Service
