About The Position

The Southwest Wildlife Advocate (SWA) is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance WildEarth Guardians' wildlife campaigns across several states, focusing on protecting and restoring key species and reforming wildlife governance. This remote position emphasizes community engagement, policy advocacy, and communication to educate the public about wildlife issues and support conservation efforts.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multimedia communications.
• 3+ years of experience in movement building and conservation issues.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all aspects of state-level work to protect and restore priority wildlife species.
• Explore and develop priority campaigns and strategies for native wildlife conservation.
• Maintain relationships with strategic allies and partners in the conservation community.
• Represent WildEarth Guardians in advocating for wildlife restoration and conservation.
• Engage the public, especially disenfranchised communities, to build political and social power for wildlife advocacy.
• Communicate campaign work to the public and media, developing compelling materials and stories.
• Assist with grant writing and reporting, and participate in organizational meetings and retreats.
