About The Position

Sentara Hospital Support Services is hiring a Registered Nurse to work in our Regional Resource Pool covering four hospitals in the Southside Tidewater region. This position offers Premium Differential Pay, Flexible Self Scheduling, and the opportunity to work up to Full-time hours if desired. Nurses are only required to provide their availability to work no more than two weeks in advance. The role requires a minimum of 48 scheduled hours per pay month, including 4, 12-hour night shifts, one of which must be a 12-hour weekend night shift per month. Nurses must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of all four hospitals in Virginia Beach and Norfolk: Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Princess Anne, and Sentara Virginia Beach General.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)
• Registered Nurse License (Required)
• Minimum RN experience of 18 months in critical care.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in various nursing units such as ICU, Critical Care, and Medical-Surgical.

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
• Meet standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
• Work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units.
