About The Position

In the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as a limited duration employee, performs one or more of a variety of tasks and assigned duties of a seasonal nature. Positions are available for Maintainers and Crew Leaders needed from mid-April through mid-October, working 5 shifts per week including weekends, not exceeding 1,030 hours total.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in custodial work, landscaping or a related skilled trade.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and operation of DEEP managed lands and facilities including litter pickup, cleaning, mowing, raking, and painting.
• Use hand tools and direct traffic in parking lots.
• Drive vehicles rated at 3/4 Ton Gross Vehicle Weight or less.
• Supervise and work with an assigned crew of Seasonal Maintainers.
• Assist in job planning and preparation of materials lists.
• Operate machinery and power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, brush cutters, tractors, and medium duty vehicles.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
