Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Proficient with MicroStation and familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• FDOT design experience strongly preferred
• Preference given to local candidates

Responsibilities

• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
• Lead the development of roadway geometric design tasks, including alignments, profiles, and other roadway geometric elements
• Lead the development of plans, design reports, design calculations and construction cost estimates.
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations
• Perform additional related duties as required to support project and team success
