About The Position

The Marina Manager plays a pivotal role in the success and growth of South Bay by building strong internal and external relationships. This position oversees all aspects of marina operations, drives revenue growth, maintains exceptional facility standards, and leads a high-performing team while serving as the primary face of the marina to customers, partners, and the boating community.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s (2-year) degree; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Recreation Management, or related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of customer-facing leadership experience (hospitality, retail, recreation, or marina industry experience highly desirable)
  • Proven track record of leading and developing teams
  • Strong understanding of Profit & Loss statements, budgeting, and financial management
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with technology (POS systems, reservation software, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace)
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth with a primary focus on increasing boat slip occupancy and revenue
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies (internal and external), including slip holder communications, seasonal newsletters, event promotions, and social media presence
  • Represent the marina at trade shows, boat shows, and community events (booth setup, showcasing, networking)
  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all facilities, grounds, bathhouses, fuel dock, and overall marina appearance to the highest standards
  • Manage full P&L responsibility including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting
  • Lead, train, schedule, and motivate seasonal and year-round staff
  • Plan and execute seasonal start-up and winterization/shut-down procedures
  • Organize and host slip holder events, town hall meetings, and customer appreciation activities
  • Present performance results, action plans, and improvement initiatives to stakeholders and district partners
  • Foster positive relationships with slip holders, vendors, local businesses, and community organizations
