About The Position

We are seeking a talented, driven Sous Chef to help lead the opening of The Orchard Social—a newly reimagined dining destination at Orchard Valley Golf Course. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a concept launch from the ground up, where culinary creativity, global influence, and elevated comfort food come together in a warm, social setting. The Orchard Social is designed as a “Wanderlust Kitchen – A Borderless Epicurean Voyage,” blending familiar favorites with globally inspired flavors. From vibrant shareables to refined handhelds and composed dinner plates, every dish is crafted with intention and executed with precision. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this role is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a high-performance kitchen, values consistency, and takes pride in both execution and team leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of global cuisines and American regional cooking
  • Proven ability to consistently execute recipes and deliver high-level plating during service
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to delegate, communicate clearly, and support team success
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Passion for hospitality, quality, and continuous improvement
  • ServSafe certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations
  • Execute menu items with consistency, precision, and strong plate presentation standards
  • Consistently prepare menu items using standardized recipes to ensure quality and cost control
  • Assist in the development and refinement of seasonal, globally inspired menu offerings
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen team members to uphold culinary and operational standards
  • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability across the team
  • Recognize when to step in and when to ask for support to ensure smooth service execution
  • Assist with preparation and execution of golf outings, banquets, and special events
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and HACCP protocols
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory control, and cost management
  • Step confidently into a leadership role in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to deliver a seamless and memorable guest experience
