About The Position

We are a senior living community dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents, valuing creativity, teamwork, and a genuine passion for serving seniors. We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support our Chef in managing all kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will assist in menu planning, food preparation, and supervising kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality meals and a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred OR 3-5 years of high-volume culinary experience.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Passion for working with seniors and creating memorable dining experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing daily menus.
• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and monitor food costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special dietary needs.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and maintenance.
• Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents.
