About The Position

Located at 25700 SW Pete’s Mountain Rd, West Linn, OR 97068, The Oregon Golf Club is a distinguished private club with a championship 18-hole course and full clubhouse amenities including dining, fitness, tennis and event spaces. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional culinary and hospitality experiences for our members and guests across multiple dining outlets and private events. As Sous Chef you will partner closely with the Executive Chef to oversee the kitchen operations across our à la carte dining rooms, casual grill and banquet/event functions. You will ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency, while leading and developing our culinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary experience in supervisory or lead roles, preferably in a private club, resort, or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-volume, multi-outlet operation.
  • Passion for contemporary cuisine and knowledge of seasonal/local ingredient sourcing and presentation.
  • ServSafe certification (or equivalent) preferred. The Oregon health card mandatory.
  • Availability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club and event calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations for dining outlets and private events.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and fostering a professional and positive team culture.
  • Participate in developing menus that reflect seasonal, local Pacific Northwest ingredients and our club’s elevated standards.
  • Monitor food production levels, inventory, ordering, cost-control and kitchen workflows.
  • Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety regulations are met and maintained.
  • Uphold the standards of The Oregon Golf Club in member service and culinary excellence, ensuring each dish meets quality, consistency and presentation expectations.
