About The Position

The Sous Chef supports the Catering Chef Manager & Executive Chef in producing high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective food. Works collaboratively with the dining services team and assists with all aspects of catering operations to ensure excellent hospitality. Some evenings and weekends required based on scheduled events.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 – 3 years cooking experience, including prep and catering execution
  • ServSafe Certification
  • First Aid training
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in a team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary Arts degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate production and temperature logs, including food usage, overages/shortages, customer counts, and all required cooling, holding, and storage temperatures.
  • Time food production so all items are ready for service, following Function Sheets to meet menu specifications and event timelines.
  • Produce and maintain prep sheets and duty rosters to support efficient daily workflow.
  • Store, label, and date all food items according to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate production needs and operational concerns to the Executive Chef promptly and appropriately.
