About The Position

As a Sous Chef at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to order and ensuring each dish meets our standards for quality, freshness, and presentation.
Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a café, casual dining, or hotel kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of breakfast and lunch service operations.
• Experience with menu planning, inventory, and cost control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• ServeSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and daily operations.
• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and light dinner items while ensuring consistency and quality.
• Train and mentor cooks and prep staff to maintain standards.
• Assist with menu planning, daily specials, and seasonal items.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, and storage of food items.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the kitchen.
• Support hotel-wide culinary initiatives as needed.
