Monarch Landing is Naperville's premier Life Plan Community, conveniently located near Route 59 & Interstate 88 and we are seeking a full-time, hospitality minded Sous Chef to join our team. You have a strong background in designing and executing menus, managing kitchen operations, cultivating emerging talent, and mentoring culinary associates. A proven ability to create and maintain a budget and have the ability and desire to continuously reinvent yourself. This position calls for someone who has a passion for delivering excellence at all levels and who can thrive in a fast-paced/high-volume environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; certification from a culinary institute or Associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years high volume cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, senior living community, or similar institution and 2 years supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the Executive Chef's second in command ensuring that staff is following all policies and procedures and that the product leaving the kitchen is of top quality.
• Assists with menu planning, recipe creation, and standardization.
• Schedules daily kitchen production and food preparation for on-time service of meals.
