About The Position

The Sous-Chef oversees the operation of kitchen personnel while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Prepares meals in accordance with recipes and company quality standards. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 Year experience as a Sous Chef in restaurant/institutional establishments preferred or 2+ years as an Executive Sous Chef in a high volume atmosphere.
  • Serv Safe Certified or Certified Dietary Manager Preferred
  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Able to learn and apply infection control guidelines
  • Able to learn and apply food safety/handling standards
  • Able to learn and apply knowledge of therapeutic diets and food consistency modifications
  • Able to learn and apply basic mathematic skills to convert weights and measures
  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing with various levels of staff

Nice To Haves

  • Some College preferred
  • 1 year of experience is preferred
  • Medical Terminology experience preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • 1 year computer experience preferred with systems in Microsoft Office
