POSITION SUMMARY: The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for directing, coordinating, and implementing Sourcing and Contracting initiatives in assigned Sourcing Categories for OSF Healthcare System owned and affiliated facilities. Through the direction of Supply Chain Leadership, the Sourcing Specialist conducts market research, assists stakeholders to develop product and service requirements, creates category profiles, selects Sourcing strategies, develops RFI/RFP documents, determines the total cost of ownership, analyzes possible solutions, and negotiates contracts including content and terms. The Sourcing Specialist maintains internal contract repositories and oversees the revenue received through contract administrative fees and direct rebates from suppliers. Focuses on negotiating contracts for anesthesia and respiratory Top candidates will show experience with data analytics and medical supply experience with anesthesia and/or respiratory

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management, marketing, hospital administration, or related field and 5 years of progressive work experience in supply chain or “Sourcing Category” specific field; OR High school diploma/GED and 10 years of equivalent “Sourcing Category” specific work experience
  • Proficient with Supply Chain software systems including but not limited to purchasing, receiving, inventory control and accounting.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP as well as ability to adapt and learn other tools as necessary.
  • Working Knowledge of contract law and principles and associated analytical processes.
  • Proven leadership skills in organization, training, and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to address operational and system problems, to gather and interpret financial and clinical data, and to prepare clear, concise management reports that alert department management to opportunities and propose appropriate action plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required to share complex information with physicians, leadership, and other OSF employees.
  • Independent judgment is required to prioritize tasks and projects and work without a significant amount of day to day supervision.
  • Flexibility and the willingness to adapt to evolving job roles within the constantly changing work environment of the health system.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience negotiating for the acquisition of supplies, purchased services, and equipment
  • Contract Control Category: 5 years of experience with contract repository systems (TractManager, MediTract, Contract Assistant, etc.)
  • Revenue Auditing Control Category: 5 years of experience with advanced analytical expertise
  • Purchased Service/Items Category: 5 years of experience in Sourcing & Contracting
  • Working knowledge of Healthcare Group Purchasing Organizations
  • Working knowledge of benchmarking and analytic tools (MDBuyline, ECRI, Premier SCA)
  • Experience with data analytics
  • Medical supply experience with anesthesia and/or respiratory
