About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist - Technology, Software will be responsible for collaborating with internal business customers and suppliers on the strategy and execution of sourcing projects. This role involves actively partnering with client's teams on strategic supplier performance initiatives to improve financial and operational performance. The specialist will build trusted relationships with senior internal leaders and lead cross-functional management to plan sourcing strategies and supplier management programs aligned with business objectives. The position requires pro-active seeking of value/savings and efficiency opportunities across category spend, negotiating and reporting in the appropriate format. The specialist will demonstrate assigned category expertise and business sense by defining category standards and operating procedures. Additionally, the role includes developing, issuing, and leading RFx activity to find the best sourcing solutions that meet business and commercial requirements, leading commercial negotiations to ensure the client receives the best value and associated cost savings. Collaboration with the Client's Legal team for negotiations of large/high-risk agreements is also a key responsibility, ensuring favorable commercial terms and mitigating risk. The specialist will report progress on a weekly basis, indicating work planning and work in progress, and will drive continuous-improvement initiatives while using and maintaining procurement tools according to Global Procurement standards and expectations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA or JD preferred.
  • Strategic Sourcing/Procurement-related industry certification(s) preferred.
  • Familiarity with fiscal planning cycles and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Program Management in a sophisticated, global, procurement environment.
  • Sound understanding of procurement practices and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract specifications within the Procurement process.
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and order management software.
  • High attention to detail and the exercise of sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent presenter of complex concepts and dense data (an Excel and PowerPoint wiz).
  • Ability to reorder priorities on short-notice and adapt to changing requirements.

  • Familiarity with BI reporting and spend analysis.
  • Inclination to train and educate users in new processes, policies, and procedures or technologies.
