About The Position

We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to develop and implement strategic sourcing strategy and manage local service category to provide procurement support and partnership to Rio Tinto Kennecott (RTK) Operations. This is a great opportunity for a resourceful, collaborative candidate to be the key contact for designated category, leading a best for business outcome through ensuring services are provided to site in a safe, cost effective, efficient, and timely manner. Reporting to the Procurement Business Partner, and working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, you will:

Requirements

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
College degree or equivalent professional experience (minimum 5 years), with procurement expertise; mining industry experience preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in procurement and contract negotiations, supported by strong commercial acumen aligned with role requirements.
Develop and implement category management strategies while overseeing contract performance, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with MS Office Suite, Ariba, and SAP is considered an asset.
The ability to drive "zero harm safety" into the contract and procurement processes.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Proactive, self-starter with strong multitasking and time management skills; a collaborative team player who demonstrates genuine curiosity and openness to understanding business needs and the impact of solutions.

Responsibilities

Create and implement strategic sourcing strategy to drive value generation initiatives within defined scope
Prepare bid packages, evaluate bid proposals, perform commercial analysis, create detailed recommendations to award and maintain category strategy implementation
Demonstrate outstanding commercial and contract negotiation skills and be able to lead negotiations and build out complex negotiation plans to implement.
Analyze contracts and identify opportunities to improve/ leverage total cost of ownership.
Identify and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to measure and manage supplier performance.
Develop and implement pipeline of value generating projects with creative mindset
Be managing your own service category and its related stakeholders, and you will be able to visit asset sites and earn high level of trust to bring value add to the operation
Support other team members with team player mindset
