You are: A Sourcing and Procurement professional with Plastics and Resins experience who helps clients develop strategies and operating models that integrate planning, procurement, product design, manufacturing, and/or fulfillment functions within an organization, as well as connect suppliers and customers across the extended supply chains. You use your data skills to develop and implement strategies that improve the entire supply chain process by applying cost efficiency, increasing business effectiveness, and creating synergies and collaboration across companies. As a manager, you will be responsible for running most aspects of client cost optimization or procurement process optimization projects, including project management, client and supplier communications, supplier negotiations, and delivery of results. You will also actively lead and mentor our consultant and analyst resources. You will have a dedicated focus on Accenture’s Resins Center of Excellence where you will play an important role in deepening our expertise and capturing knowledge to support business development opportunities while helping scale Accenture’s chemicals sourcing capabilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience executing strategic sourcing projects/programs, with an emphasis on Resins and Plastics
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience developing and executing cost optimization strategies
  • Deep category and procurement expertise in one or more type of resin (i.e., Polyethylene, Polystyrene, PET, etc.) or plastics manufacturing (i.e., blow molding, thermoforming, etc.)
  • You have a strong understanding of resin and feedstock markets, including but not limited to: should-costing, tariff mitigation, spot vs contract buying, etc.
  • Management consulting experience with a well-regarded firm, or deep industry experience within Resins strategic sourcing
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience)

Nice To Haves

  • You have deep category and procurement expertise in one or more type of resin (i.e., Polyethylene, Polystyrene, PET, etc.) or plastics manufacturing (i.e., blow molding, thermoforming, etc.)
  • You have a strong understanding of resin and feedstock markets, including but not limited to: should-costing, tariff mitigation, spot vs contract buying, etc.
  • You are comfortable in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment and a capacity for innovation and process improvement
  • Demonstrated abilities in problem solving and independent decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively take on multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-starter mindset and bias towards proactively taking initiative to learn, grow, and advance projects
  • You have prior experience in driving insights using visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) and analytics tools (i.e., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • You have earned an MBA or equivalent graduate degree

Responsibilities

  • Developing project plans and leading some or all parts of the client engagement
  • Managing project support resources and coordinating with subject matter experts from within and outside the firm
  • Developing creative cost reduction strategies and cost-out recommendations
  • Presenting to client executives
  • Building consensus among client stakeholders
  • Developing and nurture relationships with clients
  • Supporting practice development such as improving internal operations, intellectual capital, and deliverables
  • Assessing client expenditures and identifying targets to reduce costs and improve quality
  • Driving strategic sourcing (both within companies and across private equity portfolios)
  • Reengineering procurement processes
  • Leading spend analysis and savings opportunity diagnostics
  • Providing Resins sourcing and/or Plastics manufacturing industry thought leadership and benchmarking
  • Create and curate deliverable content (POV slides, case studies, whitepapers, etc.) to capture category knowledge and ultimately support internal knowledge share and business development
