Responsible for establishing the enterprise-wide category plan and leading sourcing events at global, regional, and business unit levels, as applicable. This individual will leverage their knowledge of world class best practices in Software procurement to present market opportunities to internal customers and guide sourcing decisions. Working together with IT, Legal, Finance, Asset Management and internal customers, the Sourcing Manager will ensure McKesson is purchasing the right solutions from the right suppliers with the right terms and conditions, in support of our IT and value creation goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years Relevant Experience

Responsibilities

  • Support Procurement Director and Senior Category Manager(s) in sourcing Software for business unit stakeholders across enterprise by providing outstanding customer support while delivering strategic and financial value.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on current and future IT objectives and business opportunities
  • Partners closely with Business Units, IT stakeholders, and other Shared Services (i.e. Finance, Legal, Risk, Insurance, Privacy, etc.) to negotiate world class supplier agreements
  • Create request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP), and other sourcing materials to develop and maintain leverage with potential and current suppliers
  • Generate savings through various sourcing techniques including contract negotiations, demand management, supplier consolidation, technology transformation, and innovation
  • Research industry trends to stay aware of emerging opportunities in technology, evolving supplier capabilities, and best practices for sourcing enterprise solutions
  • Support Senior Category Manager(s) in creating an annual Category Strategy that examines the market, supplier offerings, current and future needs, and aligns with IT stakeholders on 1-year to 3-year plans
  • Contribute to a Supplier Relationship Management program for our top strategic suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with company and department policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Conducts self and the category with the highest ethical standards, ensuring that decisions are objective and fact-based
  • Serves as point of escalation for commercial and contractual supplier issues
  • Provides biweekly/monthly updates on project status and opportunities
