Requirements

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in sourcing, product development, product management, or buying
  • Strong working knowledge of international sourcing process and financials, costing, and raw materials
  • Working knowledge of MS office and database query tools
  • Strong understanding of global dynamics (e.g., currency fluctuation, tariff changes, country dynamics, cultural differences, business-related legislation)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate through language barriers and cultural differences
  • Ability / willingness to travel internationally and domestically, working long hours during non-traditional work times

Responsibilities

  • Manages / leads agent merchandising teams; ensures proper execution (communicating objectives, selecting suppliers, import process, timelines, GSS training, and product selection / details); collaborates with various departments of the company (e.g., Supply Chain, Procurement, Own Brand, QA) to ensure timely execution
  • Serves as SME between internal / external stakeholders in areas of responsibility (e.g., raw materials, currency valuation, global issues, impacts in sourced countries)
  • Collaborates with BDM and PD&D to identify gaps in OB assortment and business opportunities
  • Identifies / vets suppliers, factories, and sourcing options based on objectives
  • Leads planning of all international sourcing trips to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Collaborates with BDM, PD&D, suppliers, agents to improve product costs, packaging updates, and terms to improve profits
  • Manages sample requests and tracking for BDM review / finalization
  • Manages sourcing timelines; collaborates with BDM, BDA, Planner, OB/PD&D to ensure milestones are met and achieved
  • Provides GM organization sourcing timelines and communication of shifts as needed, based on global / logistic impact to timelines
  • Ensures appropriate information is in product systems (e.g., GSS, OBPS)
  • Applies understanding of the global landscape; creates plans to accommodate industry and product shifts; sources / executes accordingly
  • Manages international and OB supplier relationships, communication, process and systems requirements, onboarding, and supplier compliance
  • Collaborates with H-E-B Customs and suppliers to ensure compliance with all CPB requirements; ensures all products meet US requirements
  • Educates new vendors on requirements to work with H-E-B (NDAs, new vendor packets, new item setup, MTM, DCM, CMs, AP / AR portal, GSS, and OBPS)
  • Collaborates with BDM, PD&D, and Planner on strategic roadmap
  • Informs / aligns with global logistics on shipping and port strategies, freight rates / needs, and shipping and flow prioritization
  • Leads / oversees OB opportunity pipeline planning and financials
  • Leads sourcing and brand strategy sessions to ensure successful product development, sourcing, and execution at shelf
  • Collaborates on merchandising strategies and financials to meet business objectives
  • Creates multi-country plans based on strategic objectives as applicable to achieve business objectives
  • Sources according to BDM strategic and financial objectives; delivers initial assortment based on BDM objectives for BDM curation; manages cost negotiations with suppliers / agents based on BDM objectives
  • Collaborates with Buyers, PD&D, QA, to drive significant revenue, share, and margin growth through new OB product development
  • Owns supplier matrix, determination, and rationalization
