Summary: In this role, you will be a strategic sourcing resource, dedicated to delivering best in class contracting strategies and expertise that result in supply chain cost reductions. This position will support the Capital/Purchased Services/IT/Lab portfolio for Mayo Clinic. You will accomplish this by contributing in all aspects of supply chain strategic sourcing processes including opportunity identification, strategy building, contract development, negotiations, documentation, and implementation. You will develop a customer-specific contract strategy to reduce spending, improve operational efficiencies, maximize delivered value and ultimately achieve a higher level of member satisfaction by becoming a trusted advisor.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree preferred, either in business or healthcare related field.
  • 2 or more years in marketing, supply chain or contract management required.
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills required.
  • Ability to understand and conduct financial analysis and quantitative/qualitative assessment of data.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Position will go on site to Mayo Clinic as needed so must be within driving distance to Rochester, MN, Jacksonville, FL, or Phoenix, AZ.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or JD, a plus.
  • Strong supply chain and/or healthcare provider background is preferred.
  • Healthcare contracting experience preferred.
  • Strong relationship building and strategic partnering skills.

Responsibilities

  • Improve existing agreements by interpreting financial analysis and market trends to formulate contract strategy recommendations.
  • Recommend strategy improvements utilizing financial analysis and market data.
  • Communicate successes, opportunities for improvements and challenges to leadership and key hospital stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and work with hospitals on specific terms and conditions while maintaining best pricing.
  • Develop project plans to meet savings goals.
  • Conduct ongoing price monitoring and contract maintenance to ensure relevant pricing.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with manufacturers across all product lines.
