We are seeking a Sourcing Engineer to support new product development and sourced materials strategies. In this role, you will work at the intersection of engineering, sourcing, and supplier collaboration—helping ensure products are designed for manufacturability, quality, and cost competitiveness. Based in Elyria, OH, this position partners globally with commodity managers, development engineers, suppliers, and cross functional Emerson teams. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Lead sourcing activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects, including: Creating effective Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Supporting supplier selection recommendations. Owning costed Bills of Materials Supporting Product Part Approval Process (PPAP). Identifying and mitigating supply and cost risks. Manage sourcing projects with Pro Tools’ global supply base, including: Cost modeling and analysis. Make/buy evaluations. Capital expenditure considerations. Communicate supply chain status, risks, and mitigation plans clearly to project stakeholders. Lead supplier decision reviews with executive leadership. Partner with suppliers to optimize Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards. Collaborate with an electrical sourcing engineering partner to: Support component sourcing and substitutions. Align mechanical and electronic supply chains for integrated subassemblies and box builds. Who You Are You are an engineer who blends technical curiosity with business awareness. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.3+ years of relevant engineering or sourcing experience. Working knowledge of quality and development processes, including: PPAP. Statistical Process Control. Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to individuals with varied technical backgrounds. Strong project management capabilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Experience supporting or leading cost reduction initiatives. Experience aligning complex, multi supplier supply chains. Knowledge of and experience leading component technical drawing reviews. Experience developing supplier or commodity strategies based on historical business data. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering or sourcing experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality and development processes, including: PPAP. Statistical Process Control. Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to individuals with varied technical backgrounds.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
