About The Position

Glen Raven Material Solutions is recruiting for a Sourcing Engineer, which is responsible for leading efforts in establishing and maintaining good sourcing practices within the manufacturing supplies and repairs components to improve costs, delivery performance, supplier selection, and workflow practices within Supply Chain functions. The Sourcing Engineer- Manufacturing Supplies will also provide support, project coordination and implementation for the Supply Chain team at Glen Raven Material Solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, supply chain management, business or equivalent
  • Strong purchasing background with proven negotiation skills.
  • Experience in working on project-based initiatives.
  • Excellent understanding of basic MRP systems
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience.
  • Ability to coordinate cross functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality) to achieve project timing completion and value add.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification of suppliers or alternate suppliers to meet the specified product requirements across the global network.
  • Discuss feasibility, supplier costs, lead times, specifications and other factors related to supplier selection and order placement.
  • Maintain and cultivate mutually beneficial supplier partnerships by continually reviewing costs and supply chain risk mitigation for the global manufacturing plants within Glen Raven.
  • Contribute to implementation of cost tracking system for part replacements on global scale.
  • Develop and maintain global price lists for manufacturing supply parts and collaborate ordering processes with supply room managers.
  • Set MRP parameters for items affected by sourcing projects; and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery utilizing new and existing systems and assist in updating material pricing in MRP systems as needed.
  • Collaborate with our plant Quality Engineers on machines requiring replacement parts and frequencies.
  • Achieve material cost reduction through global supply chain optimization.
  • Analyze and follow continuous process improvement principles for workflow ordering and receiving of goods and services.
  • Assist in benchmarking of material, labor and energy indexes and trends which affect pricing models.
  • Maintain relevant and up to date understanding of global supply chain constraints on changing tariff regulations and trade agreements.
