About The Position

The Supplier Recovery/Expeditor position is focused on on-site material expediting and supplier recovery within the energy sector. The role is based in the Detroit area, Michigan, with potential travel to Massachusetts and Indianapolis. This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension, requiring the candidate to work 2-3 days per week.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain
• Experience with precision machining and complex surface treatment
• Ability to communicate and present to multiple levels of the organization
• Strong communication skills and ability to summarize complex subjects
• Computer savvy (Outlook, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
• Candidate must have a laptop and mobile
• Available to travel

Responsibilities

• On-site material expediting and supplier recovery at the supplier
• Follow plans and manufacturing orders including in and out to external suppliers
• Develop and communicate weekly and daily manufacturing schedule and report to ensure 100% on time delivery
• Manage details of production schedule to maximize productivity of manufacturing and external treatments and shipping departments
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize customer requirements
• Communicate any risks for the deliveries to customer
• Identify and implement appropriate planning, management and control strategies for production and on time delivery
• Participate in customer and supplier meetings and provide updates of the manufacturing plan
