About The Position

Sorts incoming merchandise into specified classifications to supplement the stores productivity and increase sales.

Requirements

• Ability to identify merchandise quality.

Responsibilities

• Sorts merchandise.
• Examines merchandise to determine if item is sellable or non-sellable.
• Throws away non-sellable merchandise before it goes to the pricer’s table.
• Sorter is not responsible for determining which “debatable” items are sellable or not. These “debatable” items need to be given to the pricer for their determination.
• Places sellable items in the bin for the pricer to price.
• Sorter has responsibility to meet timelines and production goals.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area for safety and efficient production.
• Ensures the flow of product in and out of the workstation.
• Performs other duties and special assignments as directed, including assignments, which may be outside the primary area of employment.
