About The Position

The Sorter is responsible for inspecting and sorting manufactured parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role supports production by identifying non-conforming parts and maintaining accurate records of inspection results. The Sorter plays a key role in upholding product quality and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to detect defects.
  • Basic understanding of quality standards.
  • Effective communication with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Dependability and consistency in performance.
  • Ability to enter data into automated systems (e.g., PLEX).
  • Use of measurement devices… Calipers, Micrometers, optical comparator, load testers
  • Computer skills
  • Regular and consistent attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect and sort parts based on defined quality criteria.
  • Use basic measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
  • Identify and separate non-conforming parts.
  • Accurately document inspection results and quantities.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Communicate quality concerns to the Lead Sorter or Supervisor.
  • Support quality audits and improvement initiatives as needed.
