About The Position

Virginia MetalFab is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to fill the role of Sorter. WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE As a Sorter you will sort, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of materials safely and efficiently. VIRGINIA METALFAB Virginia MetalFab was founded in 2002 to provide the equine industry with high-quality manufactured and customized products. Since then, we’ve diversified to provide fabrication and manufacturing services to companies in a wide range of industries. Today we manufacture metal parts and assemblies for a wide range of industry leaders in the energy, utilities, transportation, and technology industries. OUR PEOPLE WE HAVE AMAZING PEOPLE! Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or carry 51 – 100 lb.
  • Ability to frequently push and/or pull 26 – 40 lb.
  • Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Responsibilities

  • Sort various metal materials by following written or verbal instruction/work orders.
  • Transport, pack, remove, and dispose of materials as regulated by law.
  • Assist in performing inventory on material.
  • Assist in unloading and loading for customers.
  • Operate forklifts and other power equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Work with others during the process and complete an item or task together with others; often rotating tasks and deciding how to maximize their efficiency.
