About The Position

Eureka Recycling’s Material Recovery Facility Sorter sorts recyclable and non-recyclable materials on a conveyor belt or sorting table in the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). Clean inside and outside areas of the MRF as required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to interact appropriately and professionally with others.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to work in environments with continuous motion.
  • Must be able to stand for up for majority of assigned shift.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
  • Constant bending and twisting, reaching and grabbing with hands.
  • Walking up and down stairs several times per day (all positions are upstairs).
  • Sweeping and shoveling materials.

Responsibilities

  • Safely separate materials to the required standard on a sort line or sorting table, meeting our organizational goals for quality and efficiency.
  • Report any safety concerns as near misses in order to prevent injuries and accidents
  • Arrive at the assigned position on time and fully prepared, with all required PPE properly in place at the start of the shift and after breaks and lunch
  • Follow the rotation schedule appropriately and with a flexible attitude, willingly switching to a different position as directed.
  • Report equipment and PPE malfunctions and repair requirements to a supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, free of debris.
  • Sweep, shovel, and rake materials as directed.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work courteously and tactfully with employees and supervisors as a cooperative team member.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned, responding respectfully to supervisors’ requests.
