About The Position

Fastenal is seeking energetic, team-oriented individuals for a part-time Sortation position at their distribution center in Akron, Ohio. This entry-level role involves facilitating the movement of products throughout the warehouse, organizing outgoing orders, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding and training.

• Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)
• Successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen, background check, and previous employment verification, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

Responsibilities

• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Organizing shipments into correct containers
• Packing product in layers to ensure stability and efficient space usage
• Identifying fragile product and processing accordingly
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
