About The Position

Located close to the Michigan/Ohio border, Toledo Tool and Die has diligently served the people of both of those great states since 1940. Today Toledo Tool & Die has three facilities in the Toledo area and one in Pioneer, Ohio. Toledo Tool & Die is looking for a Sort Operator to our team to support our continued growth. Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections.
  • Basic math and measurement skills; ability to use rulers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Good vision and manual dexterity to handle small parts.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and measure materials, parts, and assemblies for defects, wear, or deviations from specifications.
  • Use measuring instruments and other precision tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Record and report inspection data including dimensions, weights, grades, and quantities inspected.
  • Identify and remove defective parts or materials and mark items with proper grade or acceptance/rejection status.
  • Communicate quality or production issues to supervisors and appropriate team members.
  • Monitor production operations to ensure products meet established standards.
  • Perform minor part rework when required (e.g., removing burrs, chips, or surface imperfections).
  • Stack, package, or prepare inspected parts for the next stage of processing or shipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and daily activities.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
