About The Position

The Sonoma Water Surveying Technician II position is a journey-level role within the Engineering Technician series, responsible for conducting field surveys and collecting data using various surveying equipment. The role involves working collaboratively with Senior Survey Technicians in the Engineering and Resource Planning Division to support water and wastewater systems in Sonoma County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying and a passion for environmental improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, land surveying, or a related field
• Two or more years of surveying experience
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble field survey equipment
• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Ability to perform field and office surveying tasks

Nice To Haves

• Desire to obtain a Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) certificate
• Comfortable with field surveying methods and data collection
• Safety-oriented team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Conducting field surveys as part of a 2-to-3-person survey crew
