What does a typical day look like for the Sonography/Ultrasound Technologist? You will: Clinical Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. 8-hour shift tour to be determined based on facility need.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • 3+ years of experience
  • A Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Certificate in abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast)
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 3+ years of experience with: Abdominal (GB , Liver, Renal, Pancreas, Spleen, Bladder and any pelvic pathology), Renal Sonography, Renal Artery Doppler – r/o renal artery stenosis, Bladder, Abdomen Doppler, Aorta, Lower Extremity Venous Doppler – r/o DVT., Carotid Doppler, Lower Extremity Arterial Limb Studies, Pelvic, Chest Sonogram, Superficial masses, Scrotal Sono – r/o mass, torsion, abscess, infection, Lower extremity vein map, Upper extremity vein map.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus
  • Phillips EPIQ 7 or EPIQ 5 experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • See 8-15 ultrasound cases per day.
  • Prepare the patient for radiographic or sonographic procedures by assessing their needs and providing pre-test patient education, explaining procedures, and answering questions. Provide reassurance and support to the patient throughout the procedure. Ensure the patient understands discharge instructions before leaving the care area.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations according to the service’s procedures. Locate and record internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs.
  • Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images; adjust equipment and position patient to eliminate test artifacts, protect patient from unnecessary radiation exposure by positioning lead shields or limiting the size of x-ray beams.
