The Sonographer position at RAYUS Radiology involves independently operating sonographic equipment to perform diagnostic examinations and communicate results. The role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring high standards of medical ethics and professional service. The Sonographer will work part-time, primarily in the evenings, and will be responsible for a variety of sonographic procedures while maintaining a collaborative environment with healthcare professionals.

  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations, including breast, ABI, and a full range of other sonography examinations.
  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contraindications.
  • Obtain and review requisitions for examinations to understand procedure requests and patient conditions.
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological information.
  • Independently initiate additional ultrasound imaging procedures as needed.
  • Analyze sonograms and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring offices, and peers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Provide interpreting physician with a summary of technical findings.
  • Identify problems and generate alternative courses of action as necessary.
  • Assist with daily operations of the sonographic laboratory.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area to promote safety.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for electronic data entry and maintenance.
  • Complete exam billing and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Assist with training new associates.
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in appropriate specialties.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Advanced registry in Vascular, Abdomen, OB, and Breast imaging.
  • Bilingual.
