About The Position

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Sonographer - Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) in this permanent full time or part time, position in the new Maternal Fetal Medicine department. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually. As a Sonographer - Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound examinations with the utmost professionalism and competency and completing a comprehensive examination for each patient in a timely manner as required. The role also involves teaching ultrasound skills to new staff and medical officers as required. Requirements

  • ASAR accredited post graduate qualification in medical ultrasound
  • Accreditation with ASAR as a Medical Sonographer
  • Extensive experience in obstetrical and gynaecological ultrasound examinations
  • Evidence of effective communication, initiative and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care
  • Ability to work as a leader and team member within a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Clinical teaching skills in Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound
