About The Position

General Purpose of Job:
Utilizing high frequency sound waves provide diagnostic images of a wide variety of examinations (abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, neurosonography and echo’s) to diagnose the absence or presence of disease.

Requirements

• Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program
• Possesses skills and knowledge of cross section anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes disease processes with the use of ultrasound through the selection of appropriate procedures and techniques.
• Coordinates post and present medical history of patient in reference to ultrasound examinations.
• Schedules and instructs the patient in reference to ultrasound.
• Reviews current imaging techniques and interpretations to assure current information.
• Furnishes occasional immediate results to appropriate medical personnel derived from ultrasound procedure.
• Performs basic equipment maintenance and quality assurance.
• Compiles a daily log of patients.
• Provides assistance and guidance as needed to Non-Registered Sonographers.
• Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties.
• Prepares and schedules patients for examinations.
• Prepares material, supplies, jackets and most recent examination for next day procedures.
