About The Position

Perform high complexity, detailed exams including first trimester screening, level II ultrasound, fetal echocardiogram, amniocentesis chorionic villus sampling, and multiples. Responsibilities: Scan high risk obstetric patients under the supervision of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians. Prepare examination reports and communicate clinical information and ultrasound findings to the physician. Perform high quality and comprehensive obstetric ultrasound exams in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Screen during first trimester for chromosomal and structural anomalies and transvaginal assessment of cervical length. Perform fetal echocardiography. Perform routine and comprehensive anatomy examinations including biophysical profiles and growth assessments. Assist with ultrasound guidance during invasive procedures including genetic amniocentesis, transvaginal and transcervical chorionic villus biopsy, and fetal blood transfusion. Educate patient on the ultrasound procedure. Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of diagnostic exams. Adhere to the standard of care and maintain a safe environment. Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Sonographer specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Credentialed in Fetal Echocardiography from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 24 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
